1. Who we are
This website is a personal project operated by Deborah Ross-Grayman ("we," "us," or "our"), an individual based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It exists to share information about the Voices of Resilience anthology and to direct readers to Amazon, where the book can be purchased.
This site is independently operated and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other business, publisher, or company.

2. What this site does
This is an informational landing page. It does not process payments, host a store, accept manuscript or story submissions, or require you to create an account. The only information you can actively give us is your name and email address, if you choose to join our mailing list.
When you click through to purchase the book, you leave this site entirely and are taken to Amazon, which operates under its own privacy policy.
 
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
If you sign up for our mailing list, we collect:

• Your full name

• Your email address

You provide this voluntarily. You are not required to sign up to browse the site or to buy the book.
Information collected automatically
This site is built and hosted on Wix. Wix's built-in analytics automatically collect limited technical information when you visit, including:

• IP address and approximate general location (typically city or region level)

• Browser type and version, device type, and operating system

• Pages you viewed, time spent on the site, and the referring site or link that brought you here

• Date and time of your visit

This information is collected in aggregate and is used to understand general site traffic. We do not use it to identify you personally.
 
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above only to:

• Send you emails about the Voices of Resilience anthology — release news, related events, and occasional updates about the project

• Understand how visitors find and use the site, so we can improve it

• Maintain the security and proper functioning of the site

• Comply with legal obligations that apply to us

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your name or email address with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Your consent
Under Canadian privacy law, we collect, use, and disclose your personal information only with your knowledge and consent.
 
When you enter your name and email address into our signup form and submit it, you are giving us your express consent to send you emails about the anthology. We will not add you to our mailing list any other way — we do not purchase lists or add addresses we find elsewhere.
 
You may withdraw your consent at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you may also email us directly at voicesvor18@gmail.com. Withdrawing consent will not affect your ability to use this website or purchase the book.
 
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Wix places cookies on this site that are necessary for it to function properly — for example, to keep the site secure, remember your preferences, and support basic analytics. Some cookies are essential; others support the analytics described in Section 3.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may cause parts of the site to stop working correctly. Depending on where you live, you may also see a cookie banner allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies.
 
7. Third parties we rely on
We keep our third-party footprint deliberately small. The services involved are:

• Wix — hosts the website, provides built-in visitor analytics, and powers Wix Email Marketing, which stores our mailing list and sends our emails. Your name and email address are stored on Wix's systems. Wix processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy and security terms.

• Amazon — the destination for book purchase links. We do not receive your payment information, shipping address, or order details from Amazon. Once you click through, Amazon's privacy policy governs what happens next.
   

We do not earn commissions on purchases made through the links on this site.
 
8. Where your information is stored
Although we operate from British Columbia, Wix stores and processes data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States, Europe, and Israel. This means your name and email address may be stored outside Canada and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities in those countries under their local laws.
 
By joining our mailing list, you understand and consent to your information being stored and processed outside Canada.
 
9. Links to other websites
This site links to Amazon and may link to other external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any site we link to. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
 
10. How long we keep your information
We keep your name and email address for as long as you remain subscribed to the mailing list. If you unsubscribe, we remove you from active mailing and delete your information within a reasonable period, unless we are required to keep it longer by law.
Analytics data is retained by Wix according to its own retention schedule.
 
11. Your rights
Unsubscribing. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can use it at any time, and it takes effect promptly. You can also email us and we will remove you.
 
Access and correction. Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it, and who we have disclosed it to. You may also ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete, or to delete it. Email voicesvor18@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
 
If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our legal basis for sending you marketing email is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Our legal basis for basic analytics is our legitimate interest in understanding site traffic.
 
If you live in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to correct inaccuracies, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
 
12. Children and young people
The Voices of Resilience anthology may be read by people of all ages, and we recognize that younger readers may visit this site.
 
Canadian privacy regulators take the position that children under 13 cannot meaningfully consent to the collection of their own personal information. For that reason:

• If you are under 13, please do not sign up for our mailing list without permission from a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian is welcome to sign up on your behalf.

• If we learn that we have collected the name or email address of a child under 13 without a parent or guardian's consent, we will delete that information promptly.

• If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has joined our mailing list without your permission, email us at voicesvor18@gmail.com and we will remove them right away.

Our emails contain general information about the anthology and are not targeted to children.

13. Security
We rely on Wix's platform security, including encryption of data in transit, to protect the information stored on our behalf. Access to the mailing list is limited to the site operator. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be noted on this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
